CB FOX HUNTING
Don't go getting your knickers in a twist, Fox Hunts have been held in the UK since the early 80's, and do not involve the harming of animals of any kind, A Fox Hunt is usually a very well organised event. It is normally held either weekly monthly or quarterly depending on location in the country. It is a very enjoyable game, and that is all it is, A GAME !.
Usually involving several vehicles fitted with CB radios, The organiser of the event chooses a vehicle to go and hide in a specified area. Normally after about 10 minutes the organiser will instruct the other vehicles to go and find the hiding vehicle (Fox) This is done by utilising the CB radios RF gain control to find the strongest signal when asking the Fox to count. The fox would normally count to 5 slowly and then de-key, during the count the hounds will be looking at their RF meters, Eventually the Fox will be found and a new game will start. The Fox in this game is normally the Hound that found the Fox in the previous game.
This is a very enjoyable hobby and can prove to be a good way of learning the way your CB works and the type of radiation pattern that your vehicle has, However, It is useful to have your antennae attached towards the rear of the vehicle in the middle of the Car. This will make the strongest RF signal strength come from the front of the vehicle, very helpful.
