Dirk sees a pretty female patient being crowded around by young male student nurses. DIRK: Good morning. GIRL: Good morning. DIRK: I'm Dr Sparrow. GIRL: I must have done something dreadful - you're the fifth. DIRK: No, I'm the first. These aren't really doctors at all. GIRL: Oh aren't they? What a shame. DIRK: Lots of learning to do, eh Gilliebrand? GILLIEBRAND: Yes sir. Dirk gets a stethoscope and starts to listen to her stomach and chest. She begins to point. GIRL: But its my ankle that hurts Doctor. DIRK: I can't hear a thing with these things on - what did you say? GIRL: Its only my ankle. Why are you doing this? DIRK: We..erm..(cough)..why am I doing this Gilliebrand? GILLIEBRAND: Practise, sir? DIRK: Thoroughness Gilliebrand, thoroughness. Just because there's one obvious injury, doesn't mean to say there isn't another. You have to test for everything, lungs, heart, spine and all the other organs. GIRL: But about my ankle. I feel perfect. DIRK: Oh but you are, quite perfect. DIRK: Now you all go and have a look at the X-ray screen - see what you can find. (Eyebrow goes up) | |||||||||||||||||||||||
