Chapter One - Born To Act. All about Dirk's background. Did you know he was nearly born in a taxi? This section basically describes his background. How he was sent to Allan Glen Technical College in Glasgow and lived with his uncle and aunt there. He returned to London and enroled at University College School and went on to Chelsea College of Art. It was then and due to his mother's influence that he started his theatrical life. And got his first film appearance as an extra in Come On, George in 1939.
